Modern commercial timber building combining traditional architecture with energy efficiency Vesper Homes completed a turnkey timber apartment building in the picturesque foothills of the Jeseníky Mountains, representing the perfect fusion of traditional mountain architecture with modern comfort. ◾️This commercial timber building project serves as a model solution for public wooden structures in a mountainous environment. The timber structure employs ecological building practices with an emphasis on energy efficiency—the building is strategically oriented to maximize natural daylight and optimize thermal gains. The gable roof with overhangs ensures resilience against heavy snow loads and harsh climatic conditions. ◾️The façade integrates wood cladding, a mineral render, and architectural metal cladding, creating a harmonious ensemble with the surrounding nature. The prefabricated timber structure is organized into two functional levels—the ground floor features an open-plan area for communal activities, while the upper floor provides private guest accommodations. ◾️Interior wooden elements, including exposed beams and timber ceilings, evoke traditional mountain architecture and establish an authentic atmosphere. Large-format windows offer panoramic views of the Jeseníky landscape. ◾️This project proves that modern timber buildings can successfully function as commercial accommodation facilities and apartment buildings, where sustainable architecture meets high standards of comfort.
